Florida Economic Development Program Evaluations – Year 7

Report 19-16, December 2019.Incentive programs under review this year include tax credit, tax refund, and cash grant incentives. These programs intend to attract businesses to and grow businesses in Florida. Six of the eight programs under review involve projects with contractual agreements.

The Price of the Puck: Recommendations for Public Financing National Hockey League Arenas in North America, Report, August 2019. Public subsidization of private infrastructure has been a controversial policy. This topic becomes even more contentious in the area of professional sports stadiums and arenas. This paper adds to the discussion by analyzing the purpose and value of public financing NHL arenas. This project also discusses fiscal policy and its impact on a team’s existence.
